African Leadership Magazine's “African Political Leader of the Year” award, presented in February 2025, confirms once again the international recognition of President Andry Rajoelina's leadership.
This is not the first time his commitment to the development of Madagascar and the African continent has received praise. His actions have been acknowledged by numerous international organizations, attesting to his influence and pivotal role in strategic domains. He was designated the Champion of the Third Industrialization Decade in Africa (IDDA 3) by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), highlighting his vision for sustainable economic transformation. His dedication to the advancement of sport was acknowledged by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which appointed him as the Champion for the implementation of quality physical education and the Kazan Action Plan in Africa.
His leadership in the field of public health and well-being has also been highlighted. In 2021, he was named Champion of Family Planning in French-speaking African countries. In 2020, the African Development Bank honoured him as the Champion of the fight against malnutrition, recognising his commitment to food security and human development.
