VISA TO MADAGASCAR
Application submission:
All applications must be sent by email for verification before submission.
Once verified, applicants are notified to send their application hardcopy and passport by courier to the Embassy or drop them off in a sealed envelope at the Embassy (reception on the 5th Floor, drop-off only) Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm
Applicants MUST NOT make any payment unless prompted to do so.
If paying by bank transfer, applicants must quote their surname and passport number as reference.
Applicants are requested to enclose a prepaid self-addressed envelope if they want their passport and original documents to be sent back to them when ready.
It is the responsibility of the applicant that the items sent via courier are kept safe and secure to avoid loss or damage. Please read carefully any guidance given by your chosen courier regarding the shipping of important documents.
Passports collection and return:
When the application has been processed, applicants are notified to arrange the collection of their passports and original documents.
For courier returns, the passport and original documents are sent back to the applicant with the provided prepaid self-addressed envelope.

Processing time: 3 to 7 working days from receiving the hardcopy of all required documents.

Non-Immigrant Visa
Non-immigrant visas allow the holder to enter and stay in the Malagasy territory for up to 90 days for Tourism, Business, Conference, Seminar, Family events, Sporting, cultural or religious events, Medical visit, Scientific research, Recreational boat, Film shooting or Cruise.

Non-immigrant visas are issued at the airport or port of arrival in Madagascar or at the Embassy prior to the travel.
This type of visa cannot be transformed into an immigrant visa and does not allow its holder to work in Madagascar.

The Embassy of Madagascar in London is entitled to issue non-immigrant visas to nationals and residents of the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Sweden.

For a 15-day visit or less, a visa is not required. An administrative fee equivalent to 10 EUROS is to be paid on arrival .

Immigrant Visa
Immigrant visas are issued to potential immigrants desiring to stay in Madagascar for a period of more than 90 days for Investment, Business, Work, Study, Volunteering, Scientific research, Family gathering, Retirement, Mission.
This type of visa cannot be issued at the airport or port of disembarkation.

Compulsory steps to complete for the obtention of an immigrant visa:
STEP 1: Application for a “One month visa, extendable and transformable to a long term visa” (transformable visa) at the Malagasy Embassy.
STEP 2: In Madagascar, the holder of a transformable visa must apply for a long term visa and a resident card at the Ministry of the Interior, Immigration and Emigration Service. The original version of the documents presented at the Embassy will be required.

The Embassy of Madagascar in London is entitled to issue a "One month visa, extendable and transformable to a long term visa" to nationals and residents of the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Sweden.

Residents of countries in which Madagascar does not have a Diplomatic and/or Consular Representation must apply online at www.evisa.diplomatie.gov.mg for a “BOARDING AUTHORISATION ” (Accord d’embarquement), valid for 72 hours from arrival in Madagascar. Holders of a"Boarding Authorisation ” must then present themselves to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 72 hours upon their arrival to affix a "One month visa, extendable and transformable to a long term visa" on their passport before completing STEP 2 as described above.

Special Visa
Special visas are Diplomatic Visas and Courstesy Visas.
Diplomatic Visas are issued to Diplomats of Diplomatic Missions and Regional/International Organizations accredited to Madagascar and their dependents, as well as diplomats and senior officials on a short mission in Madagascar (less than 6 months).
Courtesy visas are issued to Administratif and Technical Staff of Diplomatic Missions and Regional/International Organizations accredited to Madagascar and their dependents.
